Community Made campaign launches at NSW Parliament House

“Without home, nothing else works.”

That was the powerful message at the launch of Community Made, the community housing industry’s campaign ahead of the 2027 NSW State Election.

Held at NSW Parliament House on Wednesday 5 August 2026, the launch brought together community housing residents, NSW Housing and Homelessness Minister Rose Jackson, NSW Opposition Leader Kellie Sloane, NSW Government MPs and representatives and community housing industry leaders to share a common vision: a NSW where everyone has access to a safe, secure and affordable home.

Residents Jayme, Tyrone and Lynne shared deeply personal stories of how community housing had helped transform their lives – from overcoming homelessness and addiction, to pursuing higher education and employment, and providing a secure home from which to care for family and contribute to the community.

Their stories are a reminder of what’s possible when people have a stable home.

Through Community Made, the NSW not-for-profit community housing industry is calling for sustained investment in community housing to help address NSW’s housing crisis and ensure these opportunities are available to many more people.
